Terms of Service

The short version

These tools are free, open source, and provided as they are. Use them for anything you like, do not abuse them, and understand that a free tool run by one person comes with no uptime promise.

What this is

Neorgon is a collection of small web tools operated by Luciano Villarroel at neorgon.com and its subdomains. There is no charge, no subscription and no paid tier. Source code is public at github.com/energon-a-secas.

Accounts

Most tools need no account. Where one exists, you are responsible for what happens under it and for keeping access to it secure. Give accurate information when you register, and do not impersonate someone else.

An account may be suspended if it is used for the things listed under acceptable use below. On Vitrina, a suspension hides that account's public shelf and stops it from being published again or given a new handle, and it stays in force even if the person deletes their Vitrina data. The operator may also delete the Vitrina data behind the shelf and release its handle for someone else to claim.

Acceptable use

Do not upload or submit anything unlawful, anything that infringes someone else's rights, or anything designed to harass a person. That includes the handle, shelf labels, notes and book details you enter on Vitrina. Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the services or their infrastructure. Do not use automated means to scrape or hammer the sites in a way that degrades them for other people.

Handles and public shelves on Vitrina

A handle is the name in your shelf's address. Handles are first come, first served, and some names are reserved and cannot be claimed at all. A handle must not impersonate a person, a brand, Neorgon, Vitrina or La Tercera Fundación, and must not be offensive, whether or not Vitrina accepted it when it was claimed. The operator may hide a shelf whose handle breaks these rules, or delete the Vitrina data behind it and release the handle for someone else to claim.

A shelf is private until you publish it, and publishing needs your statement that you are 16 or older, which must be true. By publishing it you give permission for its public part (your handle, and the catalogue books with your shelf labels) to be shown to anyone who has or guesses its address, on its page and through Vitrina's database, until you unpublish it or delete your Vitrina data. While the operator hides it or public shelves are closed, it is not shown, and it is shown again when that ends if it is still published. Copies other people make while it is public, such as screenshots or saved pages, are outside the operator's control.

Published content that breaks these terms may be hidden without notice. What the Privacy Policy says a public shelf shows, and never shows, applies here too.

What you submit

You keep ownership of what you create or upload. By submitting it you grant permission to store and display it as needed to operate the tool you submitted it to, and nothing more. Publishing a Vitrina shelf adds the permission described in the section above.

You are responsible for having the right to submit it. Content that breaks the rules above may be removed.

Availability, and the absence of a promise

These are free tools with no service level agreement. They may change, break, or be withdrawn at any time, and data may be lost. Keep your own copy of anything that matters to you. Most tools include an export, and using it is a good idea.

The services are provided without warranty of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Liability for loss arising from using them is excluded to the same extent.

Third-party services

The tools rely on GitHub, Cloudflare, GoatCounter, Clerk, Convex, public code hosts such as esm.sh and jsDelivr and, if you choose to sign in with Google, Google. Their own terms apply to their parts of the service. How data flows through them is described in the Privacy Policy.

The book scans and catalogue records on Vitrina come from La Tercera Fundación (tercerafundacion.net). They are not Neorgon's and not yours. Vitrina keeps a copy of the catalogue records it lists, loads the scans from that site apart from small copies of the books on the demo shelf, and links each book to its record there. Publishing a shelf gives you, and anyone who views it, no rights in them.

These terms may change; the date at the top moves when they do, and the full history is public in the site's Git repository.

To reach a human, open an issue at github.com/energon-a-secas or use the report beacon on any site carrying one. Issues are public; the report beacon goes to a private queue. To report a public shelf on Vitrina, use the report control on its page.
